Cordyceps is an expensive traditional Chinese medicine that has been used by many for a long time. It is actually derived from the fungus that grow on caterpillars.

Many has taken Cordyceps as traditional Chinese medicine for long time for boosting immune system, good health, protecting liver/kidney and to lower sugar levels in diabetic patients.
Possible side effects
Currently there are no specific evidence to show any major side effects in people taking Cordyceps. Some may report stomach upset, nausea and dry mouth. For lactating and pregnant woman, there are no evidence to prove that it is safe, hence it is best avoided.
Drug-Drug interactions
Cordyceps may interfere with diabetic medications and blood thinners (e.g. aspirin and warfarin), hence it is best to consult your physician before taking Cordyceps.
