STD screening of MSM (Men having Sex with Men)
The incidence of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV infection has been on the rise in MSM who practice unsafe unprotected sex practices.

The following screening tests should be carried out at least annually:
1.HIV serology test
2.Syphilis Serology
3.Pharyngeal culture for gonorrhoea if oral sex involved
4.Urethral culture for gonorrhoea and urine for Chlamydia PCR test in men who has oral/genital/anal sex.
5.Rectal gonorrhoea culture test and chlamydia PRC in men who has anal sex.
6.Type specific serologic herpes test for HSV type 2.

For those men who have unprotected sex, multiple sexual partners or drug users, they are at higher risk of contracting diseases. More frequent tests should be carried out every 3-6 monthly.
Vaccination against Hepatitis A &B is a good way to prevent transmission of the diseases. Protected sex and avoiding multiple partners reduce risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases.
