Respiratory tract refers to the parts of the body that helps in the respiration process. It is divided into upper respiratory tract and lower respiratory tract. The upper respiratory tract is made up of the nose, paranasal sinuses, the pharynx (nasopharynx, oropharynx and laryngopharynx) and also the larynx.
The lower respiratory tract is made up of the trachea (Windpipe), the main bronchus , bronchioles and the lungs. Common illnesses of the respiratory tract system involving either the upper or lower respiratory tract will be covered here.
